For volunteers

We believe that students should be active citizens, and volunteering is one of the great opportunities to make a difference around you. Our Volunteering Centre is the first Czech university centre that brings together active students and provides them with volunteering opportunities. The Centre helps UP students and employees to find their way around the range of organisations that work with volunteers and gain experience in coordinated help for other people.

What does our work involve?

  • we encourage volunteering as an opportunity for self-development and gaining experience

  • we coordinate the demand and supply of volunteering opportunities for UP students and employees

  • we educate on the professional, legal and personal issues of volunteering

  • we register and appreciate the volunteering activities of UP students and employees

If you are interested in any cooperation, please send an e-mail to

Do you want to volunteer? Volunteering Policy

      Consider your options:

      • Think about what you can do. What can you offer?

      • Consider your time options.

      • Be aware of the needs of your neighbours.

      • Investigate the current demand by organisations. Use FB or web portals.

      • Contact your local social services provider or local government.

      health is the priority:

      • Keep an eye on your health.

      • Respect the recommendations and observe the safety precautions.

      • Think about your psychological wellbeing. Keep yourself in good mental and physical condition.

      Basic rules of cooperation:

      • Respect the established rules of the organisation. Work with the volunteer coordinator. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and share your concerns. Report difficulties or problem situations early.

      • A volunteer is not an employee, but they are definitely responsible to the organisation. Therefore, follow their instructions.

      • If you decide to provide neighbourhood help, agree on the rules. Make sure you have a good understanding of the expectations of the person you want to help.
      • It is not your job to replace professionals. Keep to the boundaries in your relationship.
